Michel Said is an Investment Banker with more than 20 years of experience specializing in capital markets, funds, advisory and mergers and acquisitions with transaction experience spanning across Europe, North America, London, Milan and the GCC. During this time, he has covered M&A and investment across Europe, and later over a decade in the Middle East, advising corporate and sovereign clients with a particular focus on cross-border transactions.
Michel has been working with entrepreneurs, management teams and investors around the globe to provide independent strategic and financial tailored assistance. His goal is to help guide our clients to achieve their long-term objectives, typically helping to enact their strategy over several years. This may be via the raising of capital (debt and /or equity), selling existing shares, acquiring or merging with other companies, or ultimately selling to realise an exit. He can be relied upon to provide tailored, pragmatic, senior-led advice, and excels at transactions that require imagination, expertise and patience to complete. Enjoying a vast network of institutional contacts across Europe and the Middle East, Michel specialises in global origination of deals ranging from USD$ 10m to USD$ 300m across all industry sectors, in addition to providing direct support, advice and due diligence services to help combine the legal, with the strategic, financial and operational considerations for any deal.
Michel is also a former Chief Investment Officer with a London-based Private Equity Group with specialisation in the provision of private debt and alternative lending strategies managing a number of SICAV and Limited Partnership structures domiciled in Luxembourg, Malta and Cayman Islands, respectively, with high level of diversification by loan type, duration and risk, with offices in London, Cambridge, Norfolk (UK) and Malta and AUM of approx USD$ 3b.
Previously, Michel was an Investment Banking and Operations Director in Barwa Bank, Doha, responsible for the Group's proprietary investments and AUM of approx. USD$ 5b. Michel also served as a member of the Bank's Executive Management team providing support to Business, Support units, Internal Audit and Group Functions to strengthen the control, operational and financial reporting environment and served as an advisor to a board of directors for a number of investee companies.
He began his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in their Milan serving as Senior Manager on the German-desk for more than 12 years where he led, managed, and coordinated cross border buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, providing financial due diligence, vendor due diligence, vendor assistance and post deal assistance to both private equity and corporate clients across multiple industries. He now lectures and consults on all aspects of capital markets and is highly respected for his practical market approach working alongside central banks, investment banks and
financial institutions.
Michel holds an MSc in International Securities and Investment Banking from the University of Reading in London, together with the International Certificate in Wealth & Investment Management at the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, London and is a visiting lecturer in Forex, Islamic Finance, Corporate Finance at European Universities and a regular speaker at private learning institutions.
